SODAR

REMTECH, a company established in 1982 with locations in France and the US was created by a team of highly qualified physicists and engineers willing to further explore the atmospheric boundary layer.

In order to do so, they have developed innovative, reliable and user-friendly state-of-the-art instruments: the DOPPLER SODAR system which measures remotely a vertical profile of wind speed, direction, thermal stratification and turbulence parameters up to 400, 700 and 3,000 meters average altitude range depending on Sodar model. The RASS system which measures remotely temperature profiles in the atmosphere at an average altitude range of 1,000 meters.

In addition to the development and manufacturing of remote sensors, Remtech also offers servicing “a la carte” to better satisfy its customer needs, including rental of systems, measurement campaign and training courses among others.

Our wind measurement systems are now used in over 55 countries worldwide, from Alaska to South Africa and for various applications such as wind energy, airports, in and offshore measurement, meteorological and military applications.

  • PA-XS ( image) format same like oem web

The PA-XS Sodar includes the latest hardware design. The electronics has been down sized by an extensive use of the SMC technology. The computer part uses an ARM Quad Core CPU which is plugged on a 16 bits A/D converter board. All the hardware matches military specifications (-40 to +60 °C with up to 100% relative humidity) and is fixed underneath the antenna. Wireless modem or satellite connections are available. This new design includes GPS, 2D inclinometer, Wi-Fi, as well as pressure, temperature and humidity measurements.

    PA-0

The PA-0 Sodar includes the latest hardware design.

    PA-5

The PA-5 Sodar includes the latest hardware design.

The PA-5 Doppler Sodar provides: - echo strength - wind speed - wind direction - vertical speed - various turbulence parameters (optional) This PA-5 system is perfectly suited for regional wind studies for pollutant dispersion analysis, meteorological studies and military applications.

    RASS

The RASS includes the latest hardware design. It is CW Radar which can be added to a PA-0 or a PA-5 Sodar system. Our RASS remotely measures temperature profiles in the atmosphere up to 1,500 m.

The RASS system accurately measures: - temperature profile - temperature standard deviation - RASS echo strength The RASS system can be used in environmental studies and study of telecommunication network disturbances due to atmospheric conditions
